CSBM/FOREsight Director of Quality Assurance Michelle Lopez presented at the Florida Charter Governance Conference on September 19, 2026.
Michelle led a session on the value of budgeting and forecasting for an audience of Florida charter school leaders, board members, and authorizers. The opportunity came about through our relationship with the Florida Charter Institute and built on a similar session Michelle presented at last year’s National Charter Schools Conference.
The conference brought together charter school board members, school leaders, authorizers, and education professionals to connect, share ideas, and explore practices that support effective governance and strong charter schools.
Held on a beautiful charter school campus, the conference offered plenty of memorable moments beyond the sessions and forums. Michelle particularly enjoyed hearing from the keynote speakers and seeing the host school’s competitive high school drama troupe perform a Broadway-style scene from Catch Me If You Can.
Participating in events like the Florida Charter Governance Conference is an important opportunity to share our expertise while staying connected with the charter school and non-profit communities, learning from leaders in the field, and continuing to strengthen the knowledge and resources we bring to the schools we serve.
We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the conversation and to connect with those working every day to strengthen charter school leadership and governance in Florida.
